Glenfield’s churchyard is full except for previously purchased family plots, and the Parish Council does not operate a cemetery. Gilroes is therefore the principal burial and cremation venue for many local families. Bay Tree can coordinate the complete arrangements while your loved one remains in our care at our funeral home and private Chapel of Rest in Blaby.
St Peter’s Church
St Peter’s is Glenfield’s Church of England parish church on Church Road. The church publishes dedicated funeral support and invites bereaved families to contact the Rector.

Accessibility at St Peter’s
The church and Church Centre are accessible through their main entrances. Both buildings have loop systems, large-print materials are available, and the Church Centre has an accessible toilet.
St Peter’s churchyard
Glenfield Parish Council states that the churchyard is full except for family plots already purchased. The Parish Council does not provide a separate cemetery.
Existing family plots
A burial or ashes interment may only be possible where an eligible family plot already exists and there is sufficient space. Rights, permissions and availability must be confirmed with the church before arrangements are fixed.
St Peter’s Church Centre
The Church Centre has a large hall, a smaller side room and a well-equipped kitchen for warming food and serving refreshments. A funeral reception requires direct confirmation of availability, suitability and current hire conditions.
Glenfield Methodist Church
Glenfield Methodist Church can be considered by families connected with the congregation. Its worship area seats about 100 and provides audio and projection facilities.

Methodist hall and lounge
The Methodist hall accommodates up to 60 people for a meal or 100 for other events, while the lounge seats up to 45. The premises are accessible, have kitchen facilities and do not permit alcohol. A funeral gathering requires direct approval and booking.
Gilroes Crematorium
Gilroes on Groby Road is usually the most practical crematorium for Glenfield families. Each non-denominational chapel seats 100, with additional seating in side viewing rooms.

Music, photographs and webcasting
Gilroes provides an induction loop, external speakers, webcasting, recordings and HD screens for photographs and video tributes. Samantha can coordinate these choices with the crematorium.
Gilroes Cemetery
New graves are available at Gilroes Cemetery, subject to Leicester City Council rules, fees and availability. The cemetery is alongside the crematorium, which can simplify arrangements for families.
