Groby Village Cemetery
A burial of ashes at Groby can be a small gathering. Tell me who you’d like there and whether you have a family grave, and we can talk through the arrangements.

Arranging a burial here
Groby has a Garden of Remembrance where ashes may be scattered with permission. I’ll check what the council allows for scattering or for burying an ashes casket, depending on your wishes.
Who can attend the burial of ashes?
If you would like a small gathering, you can keep it to the people closest to you. For a burial of ashes at Groby, a funeral director, minister or celebrant must also be there to oversee it. A separate ashes plot can hold two sets of ashes.
How much would it cost?
If you’d like to know the cost of an interment of ashes, give me a call. I’ll check the cemetery fees and explain any charge for our help. You can ring even if someone else arranged the cremation.

Groby allows a temporary wooden memorial at a burial plot. The council requires at least nine months for the ground to settle before a stone is put in, sometimes longer. Your mason should wait for the permit before ordering it.
