Desford Cemetery
If your family has a particular part of Desford Cemetery in mind, tell me before you choose a date. I can ask the burial clerk what is available and explain the costs.

Arranging a burial here
The parish regulations allow non parishioner burials at the discretion of the clerk or burial officer, with different fees. I can check the decision for a new grave or the rights in an existing one.
Choosing a plot for the burial of ashes
At Desford, ashes can be buried in a main burial plot or in a separate plot just for ashes. You can tell the burial officer if a particular part of the cemetery matters to you. The officer considers your wishes and allocates the space.
How much would it cost?
If you’d like to know the cost of an interment of ashes, give me a call. I’ll check the cemetery fees and explain any charge for our help. You can ring even if someone else arranged the cremation.

For a burial plot, Desford allows a wooden cross while the ground settles. The usual wait for a permanent headstone is around a year, with a minimum of nine months. The parish needs to approve the stone and the inscription before it goes in.
