August, 2024.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Sam and her team are absolutely amazing, from beginning to end they made the process not easier( it's not a situation that can be considered easy) but something that could be dealt with. Every step was explained and often explained again so we knew what was happening. The care from her team was exemplary, honestly it was so nice to have people around that could support us when we were trying to hold ourselves together. This business is a family one and it shows. Everything is broken down and explained so that you can make the best decisions at the time regarding what you would like to do. She is easily contacted and is always polite and supportive. Personalising Your Funeral
Funerals nowadays are often much more personal events, with families having more creative input than they used to in the past.
One of the biggest changes is the choice of music that is played. More families are choosing specially chosen recorded music rather than organ music.
As a guide, we would suggest that a special piece of music is played as the coffin enters and then another piece at the end of the service as the congregation leaves the Chapel. Although many families prefer a hymn or two, this isn’t a necessity. More people prefer to use their time in the Chapel listening to music that has a special meaning to them. It is also particularly poignant to have a quiet piece of music played during the service or at the time of Committal, as an opportunity for reflection.
Although a religious service is still very popular, with hymns, Bible readings and prayers, many more families choose instead to have special poems and personal readings instead.
Another option that helps to make your service special, is the provision of a photo/photos that can be displayed in the Chapel during your service or maybe some of your loved one’s favourite possessions such as a hat or medals, which are instantly recognisable.
We are here to ensure that you have the service that you want. We will work alongside your Funeral Director and help in any way we can.
Recording your Funeral
At Great Glen Crematorium we have the facility to record your Funeral onto an audio disc or DVD that you can either keep as a lasting tribute to your loved one or give to a member of the family who were unable to attend the Funeral. Please let your Funeral Director know if you wish us to record the service. The CD or DVD takes around 10 – 14 days after the Funeral to be compiled and delivered and additional copies can be provided.
