Anstey Cemetery
If your mum or dad moved out of Anstey for care but wanted a burial in the village, ring me with their former address. I can ask the parish to consider their circumstances.

Arranging a burial here
Anstey Parish Council is the burial authority for the Groby Road cemetery. I can check the plot and current rules with the council before the family agrees a time or arranges a memorial.
Burial of ashes at Groby Road
There is a separate area for the burial of ashes at Anstey. A new plot in that section can hold up to four sets, and the council asks for a biodegradable container. If a partner or another relative might join them later, tell me before you choose the plot.
How much would it cost?
If you’d like to know the cost of an interment of ashes, give me a call. I’ll check the cemetery fees and explain any charge for our help. You can ring even if someone else arranged the cremation.
Call Samantha on 0116 278 8868If someone moved away for care
Grave rights at Anstey are normally for people who lived in the parish when they died. The council can consider someone who recently moved away because of illness or a move to a nursing home. Give me their former address and when they moved so we can ask.
Scattering ashes in the Garden of Remembrance
The garden also welcomes requests for people who lived outside Anstey. Scattering ashes here gives you a place to visit without taking out rights to a particular grave. There is a separate application if you would like a memorial plaque.
