Arranging a burial here

This is the district council cemetery on the north east side of Saddington. The parish plan identifies the churchyard as closed for burials. I’ll check the council cemetery separately if you would like a burial in the village.

Interment of ashes at Saddington

If you’d like ashes buried on Smeeton Road, tell me whether there’s a family grave. For the booking, Harborough asks for the exact size of the urn or casket. If you already have the ashes, keep the container and its paperwork together while I check the plot.

How much would it cost?

If you’d like to know the cost of an interment of ashes, give me a call. I’ll check the cemetery fees and explain any charge for our help. You can ring even if someone else arranged the cremation.

How we can help with the burial of ashes

Do we have to live in Saddington?

For its burial charges, the council looks at whether someone lived in Harborough district. Its list for Saddington gives different rates for people from outside the district. If your relative had moved away, tell me the circumstances so I can ask which rate applies.

What can we leave at the grave?

You can bring flowers to the cemetery. Leave the glass vase at home, and check before planting anything beside the grave. The council’s rules allow floral tributes and keep the ground clear of fences and kerbs.

The parish plan describes the Smeeton Road approach to the cemetery and allotments. If someone will be arriving on foot or needs a short walk from a car, let me know so I can check a suitable meeting point.
