Great Glen Parish Cemetery and Peace Garden
If your family is thinking about the parish cemetery at Sence Crescent, we can talk through a burial there. If what you have in mind is a rose or a plaque in memory of someone, I can explain those choices too.
Arranging a burial here
The council reserves burial here for Great Glen residents, including people who lived in the parish immediately before moving permanently into a care setting. Existing burial rights bought by a resident are honoured if they later move away. I’ll check any deed with the council.
Burial of ashes in the Peace Garden
At the parish cemetery off Sence Crescent, the Peace Garden has plots for ashes. The council makes provision for a first and a second burial in a plot. If you would like two people to rest together, I can check the family’s burial rights and the space before either date is agreed.
How much would it cost?
If you’d like to know the cost of an interment of ashes, give me a call. I’ll check the cemetery fees and explain any charge for our help. You can ring even if someone else arranged the cremation.

If Great Glen meant something to your family, you can ask for a plaque on the Memorial Walk even if the person lived outside the village. The walk is beside the Peace Garden. There is room for up to six lines of wording.
Planting a rose in their memory
The Memorial Rose Garden is in the field between London Road and the parish cemetery. You can choose from the council’s roses or ask about a variety they loved. A small plaque can go with the rose if you wish.
