Funerals at St Mary’s Church, Broughton Astley

If your family would like to gather at St Mary’s, I can speak to the parish about a service in Broughton Astley. Let me know if you have a family grave or a crematorium in mind so I can check both parts of the day together.
Planning the service
We can start with the person you’ve lost. Perhaps there’s a hymn they loved, a reading that reminds you of them or someone who would like to speak. I’ll talk with the person leading the service about how to include those wishes.
Can we go from St Mary’s to the cemetery in Broughton Astley?
The parish cemetery is on Frolesworth Road. If that is where you would like the burial, I’ll check the grave and time with the burial clerk while I speak to the church. Once both are agreed, we can tell guests where to meet.
Finding the church
Give guests the Church Close address. The church has a hearing loop and a toilet at the back. The parish lists parking at the White Horse. If someone needs to get out closer to the church, I can check the drop off arrangements before the funeral.
Check the time and place on the family’s funeral notice before you travel. If Bay Tree is arranging the funeral, you can call me with a question about the day.
After the church service
For a burial
Tell me if there’s a family grave or a burial place you have in mind. I’ll check availability, permission and costs before we agree the arrangements.
Burial arrangementsFor a cremation
We’ll agree who would like to go on to the crematorium. I’ll check the two service times together and allow for the journey between them.
