Funerals at St Denys’ Church, Evington Village

St Denys holds funeral services in Evington. If someone in your family uses a wheelchair or finds the walk from the car difficult, tell me when you ring. I can check where they can arrive and which door to use.
Planning the service
We can start with the person you’ve lost. Perhaps there’s a hymn they loved, a reading that reminds you of them or someone who would like to speak. I’ll talk with the person leading the service about how to include those wishes.
Can we talk to someone from St Denys after the funeral?
The church offers bereavement support after a funeral. If you’d like someone from the parish to get in touch, you can tell me before the service or come back to me afterwards, when you feel ready.
Finding the church
The church car park is opposite the church on Church Road. The parish recommends the glass door into the parish centre on the south side for wheelchair users. Take care when crossing from the car park, as there is no pavement immediately outside it.
Check the time and place on the family’s funeral notice before you travel. If Bay Tree is arranging the funeral, you can call me with a question about the day.
After the church service
For a burial
Tell me if there’s a family grave or a burial place you have in mind. I’ll check availability, permission and costs before we agree the arrangements.
Burial arrangementsFor a cremation
We’ll agree who would like to go on to the crematorium. I’ll check the two service times together and allow for the journey between them.
