We can start with a conversation

From your first call

Call me and we’ll arrange a time to meet at our funeral home in Blaby. If you need me to come to you, we can talk about a visit.

  1. Tell me where they are

Let me know which town they are in and whether they are at a hospital, care home, another funeral home or a private address. Tell me what the people looking after them have explained so far.

  2. We check the arrangements

I’ll discuss the collection, check who we need to speak to and explain the cost. We can collect your loved one once release is authorised and the necessary paperwork is in place. I’ll confirm the timing with you.

  3. We bring them into our care

Your loved one comes to our funeral home in Blaby. I take personal responsibility for their care, with help from our small team. We’ll keep working through the funeral arrangements together.

You can choose someone close to your family

Your loved one may have been visiting relatives, away on holiday or receiving care in another part of Britain. You may want to bring them back to the people and places they knew. They do not have to have died locally for you to speak to Bay Tree about their funeral.

Whether you are asking about Scotland, Scarborough, Brighton or another place, tell me where they are. I’ll check the journey and the requirements for that collection before we agree the arrangements.

Visiting your loved one in Blaby

Here with us in Blaby

Our funeral home is at 7A Welford Road, Blaby, LE8 4FT. If you’d like to spend time with your loved one before the funeral, ask me about a private visit. I’ll explain what is possible and talk you through what to expect.

We can discuss a burial or cremation, a church service or another kind of farewell. You do not need to settle every detail before asking about bringing them home.

A written estimate before you decide

Ask me about the cost of bringing them home

A longer collection journey needs its own estimate. Tell me the location and I’ll explain the collection charge alongside the funeral costs, including any charges we need to check with other people.

The price for a local collection does not cover every journey. I’ll put the agreed costs in writing before you decide, so you can see what the whole arrangement involves.

No one ever wants to need the services of a funeral directors but Sam made a very difficult experience as pain-free as possible. Following the initial meeting there was no pressure to book with Bay Tree. Every step was carefully explained and no question was too silly. Katie the celebrant was excellent too. She really captured the essence of our loved one. We felt we were in very safe hands throughout the entire process. I honestly can’t recommend Bay Tree enough.

Bay Tree Funeral Directors provided the full service for my deceased uncle last year. They were highly professional, diligent, caring and kept me fully informed of the process in organising the funeral and the back office admin. I am based in belfast and my uncle who passed away lived in thurlaston. Sam the director was always available and I know they treated my uncle with respect and dignity. I have no hesitation in recommending their services for any family who has lost a loved one. Alan J. Zanker

My sister and I can’t say enough about how great Sam was during such a difficult time. Sam was very open and honest with us when it came to planning the funeral and helped us say goodbye to our Mum in our own special way. Thank you Sam and team.

The team at Bay tree are brilliant and very professional, and Sam you are just so kind, compassionate. So supportive from the moment we rang all the way through to Caring so well for our loved one, and ensuring the funeral ran so smoothly. The support and kindness you gave really supported our family through this very difficult time. It was clear to see the respect and kindness they show to those in their care. You were brilliant and taking the pressure off us and organised everything so well, we couldn’t have done it without your and your team. Thank you.

My mum died at the grand old age of 90 and I wanted to celebrate her life not mourn and Sam was amazing. She didn’t start with ‘Sorry for your loss’ and look all sad, which I would have hated. Instead she was really upbeat and friendly and in the end it was a really great send off for my mum. Thanks Sam and all your team for being so brilliant.

It was so important to us to find a family-run funeral director, not only one that we as a family felt comfortable with, but one that we knew our dad would have liked too. After ringing several funeral directors, I knew almost immediately, from the moment Sam answered the phone, even whilst she was on holiday, that this was the funeral director we wanted to take care of our dad. We wanted somewhere local so that Dad could remain close to home, and we were able to drive past every evening while he was in their care and say goodnight as we drove past. Sam works incredibly hard behind the scenes, orchestrating everything in a way that turns your wishes into something even more special than you could imagine. She listened to everything we wanted and followed our wishes perfectly, making what was such a difficult time feel so much easier. We are so grateful to Sam and her lovely family, who do a job that perhaps doesn't always receive the recognition it truly deserves. Their compassion, professionalism and attention to detail were exceptional from start to finish. One memory I will never forget is seeing Dad's hearse approach our home and hearing the song we had asked Sam to play for his final journey. That song means so much to both me and my brother. Not only did she play it outside our family home, but she played it while taking Dad to the church and then on to the crematorium. A special thank you to the lovely pallbearers, who probably had that song playing in their heads for the rest of the day! Thank you to you all for carrying our dad with such, care and respect. Thank you, Sam, from the bottom of my heart. We will never forget the kindness, compassion and dignity you showed our dad and our family. You helped us give him the farewell he deserved, and for that we will always be thankful. Our dad's farewell was so special because of your hard work, dedication and attention to detail. Your kindness and professionalism did not go unnoticed. Thank you all for helping us give him the perfect farewell.
